My dilemma continues. ;-) A few years ago I bought this book: The Farm Chicks Christmas: Merry Ideas for the Holidays. I loved the color combinations in the book, particularly the Red, Blue and Green. I made a bunch of Christmas decorations in the colors and added in a little pink...it was super cute. Thus, I made this Ticking Stripe Christmas Tree Art Set to go along with the fun...but those little Woodland Christmas prints and the Buffalo Plaids that I made are swaying me! However, since all of our Christmas decorations are still in the garage *rolleyes* perhaps it doesn't matter? Here's some more inspiration from my Pinterest board:

I couldn't help it....I love these little critters and kept seeing them on my foyer table for Christmas. The problem is this: now I have to decide between these little guys, my buffalo plaids and some ticking stripe trees that I put in my shop. What have I done? LOL. Which would you pick? We need three Christmas' this year ;-)
I use the term "tutorial" loosely here, lol. I put these buffalo plaid Christmas decorations together the other day and snapped a couple of pics in the process.
Wood Plaque Supplies:
1. Buffalo Plaid printable art from my Etsy shop. This works best if printed on a laser printer so that the Mod Podge doesn't smear the print. However, if you don't have a laser printer you can either spray it with acrylic sealer first or have it printed at Kinko's. 2. A scrap piece of wood about .75 inches thick, sanded and stained, mine measured about 9x11.5 3. Mod Podge water base sealer. 4. Acrylic sealer. 5. Mod Podge brayer, I can't emphasize what a difference having this tool makes so that the print doesn't wrinkle or bubble when you apply the Mod Podge. 6. Use the steps in this youtube video (made by the kind folks at Mod Podge ) to apply the paper to the wood. Mod Podge is sometimes a little tacky to the touch even after it dries, so you can finish it all off with acrylic sealer if you want to.
Wood Slice Ornament Supplies:
1. Buffalo Plaid printable collage sheets from my Etsy shop. 2. 2 inch punch...see photo below. 3. Wood slices. I procured mine via a "honey-do" list...however, I have seen them on Amazon and I imagine you could get them at a craft store. 4. Mod Podge, Acrylic sealer and brayer (same as above). 5. Ribbon or twine of your choice. 6. Follow the instructions above...trust me and watch the video!
This Fiskars Squeeze Punch makes cutting out the circles so easy! Center the image you are punching and squeeze to punch it out.
I added a new section to my Etsy Shop today! "Lumberjack" I'm digging all of the Buffalo Plaids in nursery decor lately and I can't wait to put together a mood board....but until then here is a little preview of what's new in my shop. :)
How on earth is it already November 12th? Good grief. Two weeks until Thanksgiving! Even though it's cold on the way to the school bus stop in the morning, it warms up by afternoon and I forget that it is fall. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I always feel like it doesn't get enough attention. It's sorta sandwiched between Halloween and too close to Christmas, right? I decided to give it a little love and put together this little foyer table display. The prints are available at my Etsy Shop. I also have just the main print listed separately, the quote is the song: "For health and strength and daily bread, we praise thy name O Lord." ...good luck getting it out of your head for the rest of the day ;-) .....Images are Linked :)
I added these mint, coral and navy tribal nursery-kids room prints to my Etsy shop today and worked up a little mood board for inspiration. Seeing how everything came together *almost* makes me want another baby girl...but then I remember what it is like to be pregnant and my eye starts twitching..... I get over it pretty fast *wink*.
