We finally got the Christmas decorations out of the garage (rolleyes), lol. Which means that I finally had to pick which set of prints to use for my foyer table. (drumroll)......Ticking Stripe Christmas Trees. I also printed one little deer friend and resized it down to a 4x6...I think it turned out pretty cute. However, we suffer from bad lighting in this portion of the house (and pretty much the rest of the house as well, lol) so please excuse the sub-par pictures. Merry Christmas!

My dilemma continues. ;-) A few years ago I bought this book: The Farm Chicks Christmas: Merry Ideas for the Holidays. I loved the color combinations in the book, particularly the Red, Blue and Green. I made a bunch of Christmas decorations in the colors and added in a little pink...it was super cute. Thus, I made this Ticking Stripe Christmas Tree Art Set to go along with the fun...but those little Woodland Christmas prints and the Buffalo Plaids that I made are swaying me! However, since all of our Christmas decorations are still in the garage *rolleyes* perhaps it doesn't matter? Here's some more inspiration from my Pinterest board:
I couldn't help it....I love these little critters and kept seeing them on my foyer table for Christmas. The problem is this: now I have to decide between these little guys, my buffalo plaids and some ticking stripe trees that I put in my shop. What have I done? LOL. Which would you pick? We need three Christmas' this year ;-)
I use the term "tutorial" loosely here, lol. I put these buffalo plaid Christmas decorations together the other day and snapped a couple of pics in the process.
Wood Plaque Supplies:
1. Buffalo Plaid printable art from my Etsy shop. This works best if printed on a laser printer so that the Mod Podge doesn't smear the print. However, if you don't have a laser printer you can either spray it with acrylic sealer first or have it printed at Kinko's. 2. A scrap piece of wood about .75 inches thick, sanded and stained, mine measured about 9x11.5 3. Mod Podge water base sealer. 4. Acrylic sealer. 5. Mod Podge brayer, I can't emphasize what a difference having this tool makes so that the print doesn't wrinkle or bubble when you apply the Mod Podge. 6. Use the steps in this youtube video (made by the kind folks at Mod Podge ) to apply the paper to the wood. Mod Podge is sometimes a little tacky to the touch even after it dries, so you can finish it all off with acrylic sealer if you want to.
Wood Slice Ornament Supplies:
1. Buffalo Plaid printable collage sheets from my Etsy shop. 2. 2 inch punch...see photo below. 3. Wood slices. I procured mine via a "honey-do" list...however, I have seen them on Amazon and I imagine you could get them at a craft store. 4. Mod Podge, Acrylic sealer and brayer (same as above). 5. Ribbon or twine of your choice. 6. Follow the instructions above...trust me and watch the video!
This Fiskars Squeeze Punch makes cutting out the circles so easy! Center the image you are punching and squeeze to punch it out.
I added a new section to my Etsy Shop today! "Lumberjack" I'm digging all of the Buffalo Plaids in nursery decor lately and I can't wait to put together a mood board....but until then here is a little preview of what's new in my shop. :)
How on earth is it already November 12th? Good grief. Two weeks until Thanksgiving! Even though it's cold on the way to the school bus stop in the morning, it warms up by afternoon and I forget that it is fall. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I always feel like it doesn't get enough attention. It's sorta sandwiched between Halloween and too close to Christmas, right? I decided to give it a little love and put together this little foyer table display. The prints are available at my Etsy Shop. I also have just the main print listed separately, the quote is the song: "For health and strength and daily bread, we praise thy name O Lord." ...good luck getting it out of your head for the rest of the day ;-) .....Images are Linked :)
I added these mint, coral and navy tribal nursery-kids room prints to my Etsy shop today and worked up a little mood board for inspiration. Seeing how everything came together *almost* makes me want another baby girl...but then I remember what it is like to be pregnant and my eye starts twitching..... I get over it pretty fast *wink*. Tribal Art Prints from my Etsy Shop AmazingFelt Garland from Etsy Cute little plush bunny friend from Amazon Adorable gold feather picture frame from Amazon How cute is this feather print crib sheet from Etsy? I love the color of this antique white throw from Amazon Navy throw pillow from Amazon Gold storage basket from Target Never knew that I could love a trash can, from Amazon Sweet little minky blanket from Etsy Just as I promised, I'm back with some decor ideas for a woodland theme nursery for your baby boy. I have a few adorable little woodland critters crawling around my Etsy Shop.... eeek! (in a cute and fun way...not in a call the exterminator way!) If you already have furniture, it can be so easy to update the nursery to achieve your woodland theme. All of the products below totaled about $160. (Sources below) Sources: (Etsy and Amazon)
1. Woodland Boy Prints from my Etsy Store. (Free phonics lesson included *wink*) 2. Burlap Chevron Banner. (Honesly, burlap. So. Cute.) 3. Plush Deer Wall Mount. (I'm usually a little afraid of dead animals on the wall...don't tell my *hunting-loving husband* but I could really go for this adorable plush.) 4. Yellow Corduroy Pillow Cover. (Will someone buy this and tell me how soft it is? K, thanks. It looks so soft!) 5. Plaid Crib Sheet. (Sigh....it's so adorable) 6. Navy Throw Blanket. (I'm generally not a fan of standard nursery bedding. I think it's fine to use a regular throw blanket to display on the crib.) 7. Northwoods Bear clock. (How cute!?!?) 8. Wood Look Finish Lamp. (I'd usually say go for the real thing and buy an actual wood lamp, but this one is so affordable I went for it.) 9. Paprika Colored Striped Rug. (Paprika....a great word and apparently a great color for this rug!) See my Woodland Boy Pinterest Board Here for more ideas. Little fox and Little deer prints available at my Etsy Shop (pictures are linked):
I'm digging all of these mermaids that are swimming around home decor lately so I put together a little inspiration for your mermaid-y enjoyment. An easy bathroom spruce up for about $170. I say "about" because prices on Amazon tend to fluctuate a bit. Have I mentioned that I am somewhat obsessed with Amazon? I think it's the two-day shipping. No, perhaps the fact that I don't have to take four kids shopping. No, it's the two-day shipping. Okay, it's a tie. Now that that's settled, here you go: fun and relaxed mermaid bathroom for about 170 bucks.....

1. The mermaid prints are from my Etsy store, so easy to print and pop into a frame. 2. The shower curtain that I would like to marry. 3. Who knew that coconut shells could be made into soap dishes? 4. Striped Turkish Towel which happens to be my backup if the shower curtain turns down my marriage proposal. 5. Nautical trash can. 6. Textured soap pump. 7. White towels. 8. Bamboo ladder to hang said towels on. 9. Adorable little seahorse hooks. 10. Bamboo bath mat. There you have it...with my instant download art and Prime shipping from Amazon, you (or I!), could have this Mermaid-y bathroom in two days. Hmmmmmm.......I'm considering it ;-)
Is there anything more fun that decorating a baby nursery? I'm a sucker for pink florals paired with stripes. I jumped on Amazon for a minute today and put together some deocr ideas for a baby girl woodland theme nursery. Adorable and affordable! I like home decor that coordinates, but that is not so *matchy matchy*...a collected look.
The Woodland Nursery Prints from my Etsy Store are an instant download; so fast and easy to print and frame at home. I'm also in love with this pennant from Amazon. I love how it coordinates with the floral blanket and crib sheet, but that it's not a matching set. Who says you need one of those over priced "crib sets"? No way! You can't use the blankets anyway! The pink striped rug adds another pop of pink and goes great with this textured lamp. Throw some toys or blankets in the striped storage basket and you are ready to go! Woodland Girl Nursery for under $150! See the other Baby Girl Woodland Nursery Prints that I have available in My Etsy Store here and below. Some of the prints can be personalized with baby's name and birth year ("established date"). How fun would they be for a baby shower gift!? The pictures are linked to my store (because I'm just that nice ;-) All of these little critters from the forest are putting me in the mood for some s'mores and a big old round of Kumbaya....which can only mean one thing: I'm off to the pantry to steal a handful of chocolate chips! |
